CCHS is an “Open Door, Open Heart” Open admission shelter that never turns away any animal at our door from Caroline County. We also operate Caroline County Animal Control which responds to calls and complaints 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
The Caroline County Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization contracted by the government of Caroline County, Maryland, for Animal Control Services. Our Animal Control Officers respond to cruelty complaints or calls regarding injured or dangerous domestic animals 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
However, this is just one of the many functions and services provided by the Caroline County Humane Society. We have an active adoption program for the homeless dogs and cats (and other domestic animals) that come under our care at the Caroline County Animal Shelter. We offer low cost spay neuter clinics and programs for pets belonging to Caroline County residents. We also provide humane education, assistance and other outreach programs to our community.
