It has been a busy few months, but we thought we'd take the opportunity to catch you up on all that has been going on at the Shelter, but a quick recap of a few of our recent events too!
First, we want to thank each and every single person that has contributed to our incredibly successful fundraisers! The pets thank you too! Each and everyone has gone above and beyond our wildest hopes and dreams, and we again, cannot thank you enough for all that you are doing to help keep this little shelter going!!
Now, on to some of the recaps. Earlier this Spring, we held our Annual Blue Jean Ball, and we were so delighted to be back in person! The event was a huge success, with perfect weather and a large turnout! The artisan vendors, Bubba’s Popcorn, and Red Shef food truck enjoyed a brisk business. Bull and Goat Brewery and Layton’s Chance Vineyards and Winery were selling their beer and wine for people to sip while listening to the Blues DeVille band. Along with the event there was an online auction that ran a couple of weeks with items generously donated.

The next fundraiser we recently held was the Dive In Raffle during June. We raffled a kiddie pool full of grown-up libations. We honestly, did not expect the out-pouring of enthusiasm, and your participation had us delightfully shaken, and quite stirred! We raised over $3000 just for this one raffle, and you can be certain, we are going to look at doing something like this again soon!
If you are reading this, then you have arrived at our website (thank you!!), and are looking at all of the ways we help our rescues, and ways you can help our shelter and the pets. Consider scoring one of our awesome hoodies or long/short sleeve t-shirts, or buying some of the "Pet Odor Exterminator" products that we have available at the shelter.
New to the area? Come introduce yourself at our booth at the Caroline Summerfest on August 20th & 21st from 5-9pm. Summerfest is a great way to get to know your neighbors, support local businesses and charities, and have a really great time too!
And even though it is still the middle of July, we are already looking ahead to Halloween! YES! We are beginning preparations for the Howl-O-Week 5k Run/Walk on October 23rd! Keep your eyes on our Facebook and Instagram pages for more information. We plan on having all kinds of Spooooktacular activities including Pet and Owner Costume Contests, so start planning now!
As always, we thank you for being a part of all that we do at CCHS, and above all, thank you for helping us to care for, foster and help find furever homes for these amazing animals. THANK YOU!
